Cyber Commando Training Program

Course Overview:
The Cyber Commando Training Program is a 6-month intensive national-level cybersecurity training initiative jointly organized by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam (IIIT Kottayam).

This program is designed to build elite cyber professionals capable of handling advanced cyber defense, intelligence, and investigation operations to strengthen India’s national cybersecurity ecosystem.

About the Program:
Selected candidates from various law enforcement agencies, police departments, paramilitary forces, and other MHA-affiliated organizations undergo rigorous theoretical and practical training focused on real-world cyber threats, digital forensics, and national security challenges.

Program Objectives:

  • Develop skilled Cyber Commandos equipped for national cyber defense and investigation.

  • Enhance technical capabilities in network security, digital forensics, malware analysis, and cyber threat intelligence.

  • Strengthen inter-agency collaboration for coordinated cyber incident response.

  • Promote awareness of cyber law, governance, and ethical hacking practices aligned with India’s digital security framework.

Duration: 6 Months
Mode: Blended (Classroom, Lab Sessions, and Field Exercises)
Certification: Jointly issued by I4C (MHA) and IIIT Kottayam

Outcome:
Upon successful completion, trainees will emerge as Cyber Commandos — highly trained professionals capable of securing critical digital infrastructure and conducting advanced cyber investigations for the Ministry of Home Affairs and other national agencies.
